The Veterans Assistance Commission of Cook County (VACCC) is a nonprofit organization that provides social services and emergency financial assistance to veterans that reside in Cook County.

National Call Center for Homeless Veterans

Veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness—and their family members, friends and supporters—can make the call to or chat online with the National Call Center for Homeless Veterans, where trained counselors are ready to talk confidentially 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Homeless Veterans of Illinois NFP is to provide emergency housing, distribute food to Veterans in need, and provide assisted emergency medical and dental care for our Homeless Veterans.

A Safe Haven Veterans Housing

Three types of Veteran housing based on individual need, assessment and eligibility,

  • transitional housing
  • per diem housing
  • permanent affordable housing.

Veterans have access to the appropriate level of housing which may include full wrap-around services, supportive housing and employment services, to independent permanent affordable housing.
